Pakistan has signed a memorandum of understanding with SC Financial Technologies, affiliated with World Liberty Financial, a crypto firm linked to former U.S. President Donald Trump's family, to explore using its USD1 stablecoin for cross-border payments. The agreement involves integrating the stablecoin into Pakistan's regulated digital payment system alongside its own digital currency infrastructure. This deal, announced during World Liberty CEO Zach Witkoff's visit to Islamabad, reflects warming Pakistan-U.S. ties and Pakistan's growing interest in digital assets amid efforts to enhance financial technology and cross-border transactions.
