India Engages Shipping Sector to Support Exporters Amid Middle East Trade Disruptions

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East involving the US, Israel, and Iran, Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal stated that the government is actively engaging with the Ministry of Shipping and shipping companies to address cargo delays and high freight costs affecting exporters. An Inter-Ministerial Group regularly consults exporters to provide support and ensure India meets its international trade commitments. The government plans to implement measures to ease exporters' burdens and maintain India's reputation as a reliable global trade partner.
