Alphabet, Google's parent company, plans a significant expansion in Bengaluru, India, by leasing one office tower and securing options on two more in Alembic City's Whitefield tech corridor, totaling 2.4 million square feet. This expansion could create up to 20,000 jobs, more than doubling its current Indian workforce of around 14,000. The move responds to tighter US H-1B visa restrictions and increased fees, prompting tech firms to strengthen operations in India. Construction on the additional towers is expected to complete next year.
