India's December Vegetable Oil Imports Rise 8% Driven by Soybean and Sunflower Oil

India's vegetable oil imports increased by 8% to 13.83 lakh tonnes in December 2025 compared to the previous year, according to the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA). This rise was driven by significant increases in soybean and sunflower oil imports, despite an overall 12% decrease in imports for the first two months of the 2025-26 oil year. Non-edible oil imports saw a decline, while palm oil imports decreased overall, though crude palm oil shipments rose.
