India's Vivek Aggarwal Elected Vice-President of Financial Action Task Force for 2026-27
Vivek Aggarwal, a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service officer and current Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, has been elected Vice-President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for the 2026-27 term. This marks the first time India will hold this leadership position in the Paris-based global body that sets standards to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. Aggarwal's appointment reflects India's growing role and credibility in shaping international anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing policies.
