Andhra Pradesh Forms SPV to Develop Rs 29,253 Crore Shipbuilding Hub at Dugarajapatnam

The Andhra Pradesh government has established the National Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries Park Andhra Pradesh Limited (NSHIP-AP Ltd.) as a Special Purpose Vehicle to develop a Rs 29,253 crore greenfield port and National Mega Shipbuilding Cluster at Dugarajapatnam in Tirupati district. This joint venture between the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board and Visakhapatnam Port Authority aims to expand domestic shipbuilding capacity with facilities including shipyards, repair units, dry docks, and heavy engineering infrastructure. The project aligns with India's Maritime Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 to increase shipbuilding output significantly by 2047.
