Andhra Pradesh is set to host India's first and the world's largest green ammonia complex at Kakinada, with a planned capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum and a USD 10 billion (₹13,000 crore) investment. The project, led by AM Green and supported by global partners, involves brownfield conversion of an existing ammonia plant and integrates 7.5 GW of renewable energy and pumped hydro storage. Expected to create up to 8,000 jobs, it aims to begin phased production by 2027 and enable India's first green ammonia exports to markets including Germany, Japan, and Singapore.
