Tata Steel's Dutch subsidiaries are facing a class action lawsuit seeking approximately 1.4 to 1.6 billion euros in compensation. The lawsuit, filed by Dutch non-profit Stichting Frisse Wind.nu (SFW) on behalf of local residents, alleges environmental and health damages due to emissions from the IJmuiden steel plant. SFW claims increased health risks and diminished property values. Tata Steel denies the allegations, calling them unsubstantiated and speculative, and states it is prepared to defend itself vigorously.
