India and the US are deepening cooperation in nuclear energy, with Clean Core Thorium Energy (CCTE) partnering with NTPC Ltd. NTPC plans a minority equity investment in CCTE, pending approvals, to explore thorium as an alternative nuclear fuel. This collaboration aims to leverage India's thorium reserves for long-term energy security and reduce reliance on imported uranium, aligning with NTPC's goal of developing significant nuclear power capacity by 2047.
