Saudi Arabia is offering long-term oil buyers the option to receive part of their April supply through the Red Sea port of Yanbu amid disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz caused by regional conflict. However, the Yanbu route faces capacity constraints due to pipeline and port limitations, allowing only partial deliveries. While the Persian Gulf remains the primary export route, its closure risks supply interruptions. The Red Sea alternative increases shipping costs and transit times, making it a temporary solution rather than a full replacement for the Strait of Hormuz.
