Rajasthan is accelerating the installation of rooftop solar power plants under the revamped distribution sector scheme (RDSS) to cut transmission losses and enhance power supply. The scheme also focuses on transformer metering. Progress was reviewed by the REC, which urged increased field teams and action against underperforming service providers. The state has received 2.36 lakh applications for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, with grants released for over 1 lakh consumers. Awareness campaigns are planned to encourage scheme participation.
