Exporters Raise Concerns Over Reduction in RoDTEP Scheme Benefits in 2026-27 Budget

The reduction in Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme benefits announced in the Union Budget 2026-27 and subsequent DGFT notification has raised concerns among textile and engineering exporters. The allocation was cut from Rs 18,232.50 crore to Rs 10,000 crore, with rates halved, potentially eroding 65-75% of previous benefits. Exporters warn this may weaken India's global competitiveness, affect export orders, and impact employment, especially in MSME-dominated textile sectors. Industry bodies urge restoration of earlier RoDTEP rates to sustain export growth.
