Unified Payments Interface (UPI) recorded its highest-ever monthly transaction volume in December 2025, surpassing 21.6 billion transactions and reaching Rs 28 lakh crore in value. This surge aligns with a trend of increasing digital payments, as indicated by a recent RBI report noting a decline in ATM usage. For the full year 2025, UPI processed 228.3 billion transactions valued at nearly Rs 300 lakh crore, reflecting significant growth from the previous year.
