Air India has uncovered widespread misuse of its Employee Leisure Travel (ELT) policy involving over 4,000 employees, who allegedly claimed benefits for non-relatives and sold free tickets for profit. The airline, acquired by the Tata Group in January 2022, initiated an internal investigation revealing violations dating back to the previous financial year. Corrective actions include penalties and recovery of improperly claimed amounts, while Air India has not publicly commented on the issue.
