
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is reportedly seeking to sell its subsidiary IntelliSmart for ₹723 crore due to mounting debt, with Deloitte appointed as an advisor. The company faces significant dues, including ₹3,000 crore for street lights and ₹900 crore for rural schemes and energy efficiency programs. Smart meters, a key product of IntelliSmart, are being deployed nationwide to improve energy management and reduce losses, with 49 million installed out of a planned 250 million.
