India's LPG consumption fell 17.7% in the first half of March due to supply disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict, which led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key import route. The government curtailed LPG supplies to commercial users to prioritize household needs. Despite this decline, petrol and diesel sales increased, while jet fuel consumption dropped amid Gulf airspace closures. LPG consumption had previously grown steadily by 3-4% annually, driven by efforts to replace polluting fuels.
