Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs/FPIs) continued net selling Indian equities in January, offloading over Rs 26,000 crore by January 19 and Rs 22,530 crore by mid-month, driven by rising US bond yields, a stronger dollar, global trade tensions, and rupee depreciation. Meanwhile, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) have been net buyers, purchasing over Rs 34,000 crore in the month. Indian markets faced pressure with key indices falling amid mixed quarterly earnings and sectoral declines, particularly in realty and oil & gas.
