India Advances Indigenous Combat Drone Programs: Ghatak UCAV and Sheshnaag-150 Swarm Drone

India is advancing its indigenous combat drone capabilities with two key projects. The Defence Research and Development Organisation's Ghatak UCAV, a stealth flying-wing drone designed for deep-strike missions, has received approval to procure 60 units. Concurrently, Bengaluru-based startup Newspace Research Technologies is developing the Sheshnaag-150, a long-range swarm attack drone aimed at operating autonomously in GPS-denied environments. Both programs reflect India's focus on enhancing unmanned aerial systems for strategic and tactical roles amid evolving global drone warfare dynamics.
