NITI Aayog Proposes Convergence of MSME Schemes to Enhance Efficiency and Outreach

NITI Aayog has released a report titled "Achieving Efficiencies in MSME Sector through Convergence of Schemes," proposing the convergence of overlapping government schemes to improve efficiency and outreach for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The report highlights 18 schemes under the Ministry of MSME and suggests integrating information and processes across ministries to reduce duplication and enhance delivery of financial, skill, marketing, and innovation support. It recommends a centralized portal, coordinated governance, and rationalisation while preserving flagship programs like PMEGP and PM Vishwakarma.
