PSPCL Withdraws Circular on Cluster Substations After PSERC Intervention

Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) has withdrawn a circular that allowed industrial units with non-contiguous premises to jointly install a cluster substation, following a directive from the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). The PSERC had earlier rejected PSPCL's proposal, citing regulations permitting such substations only for contiguous premises. The regulator issued a show-cause notice to PSPCL and initiated proceedings against its Chief Engineer for alleged violation of electricity regulations.
