
Following drone attacks on Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres in the UAE and Bahrain on March 2, which disrupted banking apps, airport operations, and the UAE stock market, hyperscale cloud providers including AWS and Microsoft Azure are considering rerouting data workloads from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Oman to safer locations such as India and Singapore. Immediate capacity is being sought in Indian cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi to support critical workloads, especially for banking clients. These shifts, while temporary, may lead to increased long-term investments in India by global and Indian companies.
