The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is preparing to address potential anti-competitive practices in the artificial intelligence sector, including algorithmic collusion, price discrimination, and concentration in the AI value chain, according to Chairperson Ravneet Kaur. The regulator is also examining issues in sports, civil aviation, paints and varnishes, and liquor sectors. CCI emphasizes the need for self-audits by enterprises to prevent hidden anti-competitive outcomes and has disposed of around 90% of the 1,360 anti-trust cases received so far.
