India possesses the world's third-largest reserves of rare earth elements, estimated at 6.9 million tonnes of rare earth oxide (REO). Despite this significant resource, the country's actual production is notably low compared to global leaders like China (44 million tonnes) and Brazil (21 million tonnes). This disparity indicates a substantial gap between India's potential and its current output in the rare earth sector, as per an Amicus Growth report.
