
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a 70 MW solar power plant in Dhubri's Bilasipara area, marking progress towards the state's renewable energy goals. Assam's current solar capacity stands at 680 MW, expected to reach 750 MW by April with an additional 50 MW project in Sonitpur. The state aims to generate 3,500 MW of solar power by 2030, promoting energy self-reliance and reducing carbon emissions. The project, costing over Rs 350 crore, was developed by SJVN Green Energy Limited and Assam Power Development Corporation.
