
The IMF review mission arrived in Pakistan on February 25 to conduct the third review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the second under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF). Led by Iva Petrova, the mission will stay until March 11, assessing performance and structural benchmarks. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed hope for a successful review, which could unlock about USD 1.2 billion by late April. Discussions will cover economic issues like circular debt, electricity tariffs, and fiscal policies, amid recent improvements including a primary fiscal surplus for FY25.
