Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched Bharat Taxi, a cooperative ride-hailing platform allowing cab and auto drivers to become co-owners by investing Rs 500. Drivers, including women, will share profits based on kilometers driven after an initial three-year period, with 20% of revenues retained as capital. The model aims to empower drivers with ownership and decision-making roles, expanding nationwide within three years as a competitor to private platforms like Uber and Ola.
