Bharat Forge Limited has secured a Rs 1,661 crore contract from the Ministry of Defence to supply over 2.55 lakh indigenous Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Carbines to the Indian Army. The carbines, designed and developed by DRDO's ARDE and Bharat Forge, are intended to enhance close combat capabilities. This deal, expected to be executed within five years, aligns with the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India' initiatives, aiming to boost indigenous defence manufacturing, employment, and the economy.
