India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection for December 2025 reached Rs 1.74 lakh crore, a 6.1% increase year-on-year. This growth was primarily driven by a significant 19.7% rise in revenue from imported goods, while domestic sales revenue saw a slower increase of 1.2%. Despite a 31% rise in refunds, net GST revenue grew by 2.2% to Rs 1.45 lakh crore. The collections reflect the impact of GST rate cuts implemented in September 2025, which aimed to stimulate demand.
