Mizoram Boosts Tourism with New Rail Link, Infrastructure Investment, and Events

Mizoram is rapidly developing as a tourist destination, driven by the inauguration of the Bairabi-Sairang railway line in September 2025, which has significantly improved connectivity. Tourist arrivals surged by 145.54% between 2023 and 2024, with further growth expected. The state plans to invest around Rs 650 crore in tourism infrastructure, including eco-resorts and heritage centers, while promoting community-based initiatives and a 2026 events calendar to encourage longer stays and boost local employment.
