The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) has approved net true-up charges of 4,498 crore for DISCOMs for the period FY 2019-20 to FY 2023-24. The commission directed DISCOMs to claim these approved amounts from the state government, citing the government's commitment to shield end consumers from increased electricity costs. Initially, DISCOMs proposed 5,933 crore, but this was adjusted after APERC disallowed recovery of carrying costs and other expenses totaling 8,274 crore.
