India Has Adequate Fertilisers Now but West Asia Conflict May Affect Future Supply

India currently has sufficient fertiliser supplies for the upcoming Kharif cropping season, according to S Sakthimani, Managing Director of Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT). FACT depends on raw materials like rock phosphate and phosphoric acid imported from West Asia and the Middle East via sea routes. While the ongoing conflict in West Asia has not yet affected fertiliser availability, prolonged instability beyond six months could impact the Rabi season. The company is monitoring the situation and taking steps to mitigate potential disruptions.
