Indian Railways has recently launched a bi-weekly superfast train between SMVT Bengaluru and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, covering 1,209 km in about 24 hours with 14 stops. Due to passenger demand for faster travel, the Railway Board is reportedly considering a Duronto Express on the same route, which would reduce travel time to approximately 18 hours with fewer stops and onboard meals. Tentative schedules suggest evening departures and morning arrivals, with 3AC fares around ₹2,500. Officials have not yet made an official announcement.
