
At the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Maharashtra signed 19 MoUs worth Rs 14.5 lakh crore, projecting over 15 lakh jobs across sectors like infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy, and digital services. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) secured USD 96 billion (Rs 8.73 lakh crore) through 10 MoUs focused on transforming Mumbai 3.0 and generating 9.6 lakh jobs. The Adani Group also committed Rs 6 lakh crore in investments. While the government highlighted strong global investor confidence and economic growth plans, opposition parties questioned the necessity of signing deals abroad with Indian firms.
