India's government is set to exhaust its 857-crore subsidy fund for electric three-wheelers in the L5 category three months ahead of schedule, according to a letter to manufacturers. The PM E-Drive scheme's incentives will halt once the target of 288,809 vehicles is met or by December 26, whichever comes first. This faster-than-anticipated disbursement is due to high adoption rates for these vehicles, which are used for both passenger and cargo transport.
