Indian AC Makers Raise Prices 5-15% Ahead of Summer Due to Rising Input Costs

Leading room air-conditioner manufacturers in India, including Daikin, Voltas, Blue Star, LG, Haier, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, are raising prices by 5-15% between February and April ahead of the peak summer season. The increases are driven by higher costs of raw materials like copper and aluminium, a weaker rupee, rising freight expenses, and new energy-efficiency norms. Despite price hikes, industry executives expect strong sales growth of around 15% in 2026, supported by forecasts of a hotter summer and improved energy-efficient models.
