Brand Finance 2026: SBI Tops Indian Banks in Strength, HDFC Leads in Value Globally

The 2026 Brand Finance Banking 500 report ranks State Bank of India (SBI) as the only Indian bank with a AAA rating and 16th in global brand strength, with a brand value of $8.1 billion. HDFC Bank leads Indian banks in brand value at $12.4 billion despite a decline, ranking 28th in brand strength. ICICI Bank's brand value rose to $5.5 billion, ranking 76th. Globally, Chinese and American banks dominate the top positions, with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China leading at $90.9 billion.
