
IndiGo's parent company, InterGlobe Aviation, has been issued a Goods and Services Tax (GST) penalty order totaling over Rs 458 crore. The penalty, imposed by the CGST-Delhi South Commissionerate, relates to GST demand, interest, and penalties on compensation from foreign suppliers and denial of input tax credit for fiscal years 2018-19 to 2022-23. IndiGo stated it strongly believes the order is erroneous and not in accordance with the law, and plans to contest it through legal remedies. The airline also noted a separate penalty of Rs 14.59 lakh for the 2021-22 period.
