India's power consumption rose by nearly 7% to 138.39 billion units in December, driven by increased use of heating appliances due to severe cold in North India. Peak power demand also climbed to 241.20 GW. Experts anticipate continued steady demand into January as temperatures are expected to drop further, particularly in the northern regions.
