
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) on March 3 revised electricity tariffs for 2025-26 following a review petition by five state-run power distribution companies. Tariffs for select commercial and industrial consumers were increased by up to 10 paise per unit to recover about ₹1,255 crore, with specific fixed and energy charges detailed for various consumer categories. Conversely, tariffs for agricultural pump sets were reduced from a uniform ₹8.30 per unit to a range of ₹6.57 to ₹7.79 per unit. The order does not specify the effective date of these changes.
