Kompella Venkata Ramana Murty, a 1991-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service officer and former Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts, has been appointed as a whole-time member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for a three-year term. His appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, restores the SEBI board's full strength with four whole-time members. Murty previously served as a part-time member representing the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The board also includes members from the Indian Revenue Service and SEBI itself.
