Bihar's first access-controlled greenfield expressway, the Darbhanga-Amas Expressway (NH-119D), is nearing completion. The 189 km project, part of the Bharatmala programme, aims to connect North and South Bihar, linking Darbhanga with Amas in Gaya. It will traverse seven districts and includes a crossing over the Ganga via the Kacchi Dargah-Bidupur bridge. The expressway, estimated at Rs 5,000-Rs 6,000 crore, is designed for future expansion and will enhance connectivity, with local work near Darbhanga Airport nearing final stages.
