Taiwanese prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for OnePlus CEO and co-founder Pete Lau, accusing him and two Taiwanese associates of illegally recruiting over 70 engineers in Taiwan since 2014. The charges cite violations of Taiwan's Act Governing Relations Between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area, aimed at preventing unauthorized Chinese business operations and talent poaching. This move is part of Taiwan's broader efforts to protect its technology sector and intellectual property amid ongoing tensions with China. OnePlus and Lau have not publicly responded to the allegations.
