Andhra Pradesh Plans Titanium and Rare Earth Industrial Hub from Beach Sand Minerals

Andhra Pradesh aims to develop a global hub for titanium and rare earth elements by leveraging its beach sand mineral reserves. Minister Kollu Ravindra emphasized building complete value chains from extraction to manufacturing, targeting sectors like aerospace, defence, electric mobility, and renewable energy. Former DRDO Chairman G. Satish Reddy highlighted the strategic importance of these materials for national security. The state government outlined policies focusing on investment, infrastructure, environmental safeguards, and industrial cluster development to boost domestic production and reduce import dependence.
