
Mattel has introduced its first Barbie doll representing autism, featuring sensory-friendly designs such as elbow and wrist articulation, a shifted gaze, noise-cancelling headphones, a fidget spinner, and an AAC tablet. Developed with input from the autistic community, the doll aims to authentically reflect neurodiversity and is part of the inclusive Barbie Fashionistas line. Mattel plans to donate over 1,000 dolls to children leaving pediatric hospitals, highlighting efforts to promote disability representation and awareness.
