Construction on Pune's Outer Ring Road western corridor has accelerated nearly a year after starting. The Rs 55,622 crore project spans 168.605 km with a 110-metre width, aiming to reduce city traffic by providing an alternative route for vehicles traveling between Mumbai, western Maharashtra, and Bengaluru. The western corridor includes eight twin tunnels, seven viaducts, multiple bridges, underpasses, and overpasses to ensure smooth traffic flow. Managed by MSRDC, the road will be a four- to six-lane access-controlled highway designed for speeds up to 120 km/h.
