A new Van Vigyan Kendra (VVK) in Indore, part of a national network, aims to boost farmer livelihoods in the Malwa region through science-backed forestry. The center will provide access to high-yield planting materials, modern technologies, and market linkages, reducing risks associated with shifting to forestry. Farmers can test plant varieties and receive training in diverse cultivation and value-addition techniques, including bamboo and lac processing, to optimize income and promote a diverse forestry economy.
