
The Indian government has approved the procurement of 2.3 million tonnes of chana (gram) under the Price Support Scheme for the 2026-27 rabi season across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat to support farmers and stabilize prices. Procurement of mustard and lentils was also approved for the same season. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized timely utilization of central funds and announced extended procurement of pulses under the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission until 2030-31.
