The Indian government has extended the minimum export price (MEP) for natural honey at USD 1,400 per tonne until March 31, 2026. This measure, first introduced in March 2024, prohibits exports below this threshold to support the beekeeping industry. India exported honey worth USD 177.52 million in 2023-24, with major destinations including the US and UAE. The government also supports the sector through the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission.
