Chinese automaker BYD is projected to surpass Tesla as the world's largest electric vehicle (EV) seller for the full year, according to Nikkei Asia. BYD reported a 28% increase in EV sales to 2.25 million units for 2025. Tesla's estimated sales for the same period show an 8% decrease to 1.64 million units. BYD's growth is attributed to strong domestic demand and expanding international sales, positioning it for potential cost advantages through large-scale production.
