Maruti Suzuki launched its first electric vehicle, the eVitara, priced from Rs 10.99 lakh, targeting strong demand beyond Tier 1 cities. Production is currently limited to around 2,000 units per month at the Hansalpur plant, with plans to increase capacity after July. The eVitara offers battery options with up to 543 km range and comes in three trims. It faces competition from models like Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Punch EV in India's growing electric SUV market.
